BOSSON IS RE-LOADING

After several years in the musicbusiness he made his debut in Melodifestivalen (the swedish pre-round to the Eurovision Song Contest) last year with the song Efharisto.

In the summer of 2004 he went on the road but after that it went silent.

But donīt think that heīs taken a vacation, Bosson is focusing on a new album.

Itīs been two years since Bosson released his latest album Rockstar.

The album has resulted in five singles, all which have been played frequently on the radio, the latest one being “I Need Love”.

But now Bosson feels itīs time for something new.

- Iīve been thinking about spending time in a cabin somewhere and just write for myself for a couple of months.

I have quite a lot of lyrics, thoughts and ideas Iīve written down, Bosson tells me when we meet at a small Thai-restaurant in Gothenburg

In todays music business where new artist are coming out of the wood-work, itīs easy to be forgotten if you havenīt released an album in a while.

But Bosson doesnīt feel any pressure, the new album will have to take the time it needs.

- If I quickly put some songs together now and release an album this summer, it will probably be a careless job that wouldnīt work anyway.

Then it doesnīt matter if people know who I am.

I should be able to start from the beginning as a new artist everytime and it should work anyway,  Bosson explains.

Gigs in Russia

Bosson has put aside the last couple of months to relax and gather up some strength for the work on the up-coming album aswell as for the gigs he has schedueled this summer, in Russia among other places.

Cause even if itīs pretty quiet on the Bosson-front back home the situation is pretty different over there.

His music has become a huge hit and has resulted in several tours with performances infront of thousands of screaming fans and pressconferences in every city he comes to.

With situations like that it can be nice to come home and be away from all the attention.

- I think itīs pretty nice to be private. Before Melodifestivalen it was good to have your songs playing on the radio but still be able to walk around everywhere.

- After Melodifestivalen I noticed that that changed.

Then I had to try and cut down on the Media-part. The music is most important to me anyway.

Working in America

A while back Bosson went to America to produce a version of his song “We will meet again” for Howie D from The Backstreet boys and his sister Pollyanna.

The final result was such a success that it became a track on Pollyannas album that recently was released in America.

- Itīs a pretty powerful song about loosing someone. They lost their sister to Lupus so Pollyannan wanted to record it.

- It was me, Howie D and his sister that worked together in the studio. Heīs really good and hits the notes perfectly! says Bosson.

The new album

Bosson wouldnīt mind producing other artist in the future. But now the priority is on the new album.

- I need to do music now cause I havenīt done that in a while.

To be on stage is one thing, but to write and create is totally different.

I want to write songs now.

I think it will be more “naked” this time. More aukustic, maybe not as much up-tempo but it will be strong melodies.

Weīll just have to see, but if you just follow your heart and do what feels right, people will hear that, Bosson says with a smile.
